    Waste not, want not

There are lots of different ways that you can reduce the amount of waste that you produce on a daily basis. And by waste I don’t mean just garbage, that is the biggest misconception about going zero-waste or trying to reduce your impact. everything you do, on a daily basis, makes waste.

Water waste, energy waste, consumer waste, the list can go on for awhile. But to start the conversation, I just want to talk about these three and give you some tips to help you reduce in these areas.

One of the biggest things is becoming aware of the waste you create and trying to cut down on it. Consermeraizam in all these areas is why our world is in the state it is today, every little bit helps.

Here are some tips you can use on a daily basis to help…

    Water waste

    – turn of the tap when brushing your teeth.
-fill the sink full of water when doing dishes
    -do dishes once a day
-use rainwater to water your garden
-get a low flow shower head
    -get a low flow toilet

    Energy waste

-unplug devices from the wall when you are done with them
-layer up clothing or get a blanket before you turn up the heat
    -turn off the lights
    -energy efficient washers and dryers
-wash your clothes in cold water

    Consumption waste

-buy higher quilty products that will last
    -shop at thrift stores
-have multiple use products, that provide more than one use to your household
-Meal plan/ only buy what you need, to cut down on food waste

Every step you make towards a waste-free life helps the planet and everyone on it. Some of these things are free and some of them will take some investment, however, the reward is that you will save money in the long run and also the beautiful world we live in.

Thank you for choosing a more sustainable way.

    Until next time,

    One step at a time
